New midland packaging company becomes reality

Set to redefine the food packaging industry, Midland based, i2r Packaging Solutions Ltd has been launched with the promise to provide an innovative answer to the needs of the food industry.

Standing for ‘innovation to reality,’ i2r will be producing, from its new site in Telford, a range of quality aluminium smooth wall trays for food manufacturers across the UK and mainland Europe.

Established by chief executive officer, Peter Reay, commercial development director, Jon West and chief financial officer, Richard Chaplin; i2r’s main business objective is to provide innovative market leading packaging designs for the food sector.

With a highly experienced team, i2r is using intellectually protected designs to address a variety of packaging needs, including the current environmental issues of food packaging.

Commenting on the launch, CEO Peter Reay said; “With funding from iC2 Capital, i2r Packaging Solutions has been able to develop a unique range of packaging products for both food manufacturers and retailers.

“By focusing on design as well as a partnership approach to working, we have already created a huge interest within the packaging/food industry in our products. Our production facility in Telford will open in September and we will be supplying aluminium foil trays to a number of key UK food manufacturers with immediate effect.

“With a food grade production facility in Telford of 4,000 sq metres, i2r has uniquely developed fully automated processing lines and is committed to spend £2.4m over the next two years on capital expenditure.”
