New packaging company becomes reality
Set to redefine the food packaging industry, i2r Packaging Solutions Ltd has been launched with the promise to provide an innovative answer to the needs of the food industry.Standing for ‘innovation to reality,’ i2r will be producing, from July 2007, a range of quality aluminium smooth wall trays for food manufacturers across the UK and mainland Europe.
Established by an experienced team of industry professionals, i2r’s main business objective is to provide innovative market leading packaging designs for the food sector.
Environmentally aware, the product has been carefully designed to substantially reduce the weight of aluminium packaging whilst improving tray strength for greater consumer performance.
The i2r team is headed by chief executive officer, Peter Reay, chief finance officer, Richard Chaplin and commercial development director, Jon West.
Commenting on the launch, Jon West said; “The i2r team is experienced and ambitious and we plan to grow a significant UK packaging business over the next five years.
“We believe that with a unique product, unrivalled customer service and an open working relationship between suppliers and customers, we can really set i2r apart from the competition. “This will be achieved through our company philosophy, which continually challenges traditional industry constraints in order to satisfy the latest market trends.
“In addition, having important strategic partnerships, throughout the supply chain, is at the very heart of our business ethos.
“Our team has been structured so that we can give a fast response time to complex development challenges and we place great emphasis on innovation. Our new range of products has been met with real excitement and enthusiasm and customers have already expressed their delight with the choice we are offering.
“Aluminium as a material offers a total packaging solution and we strongly believe that there is a huge potential for increased growth especially within the ready to cook sector.”
With a food grade production facility in the West Midlands of 4,000 sq metres, i2r has state of the art, fully automated processing lines and is committed to spend £2.4m over the next two years on capital expenditure.
