i2r unveils Contital investment as the Company looks to expand

Supplier of smooth wall aluminium foil trays for the food industry, i2r, has unveiled Contital S.r.L., one of the leading global suppliers of aluminium products, as a major financial investor in their rapidly growing business.

Established in 2007, i2r Packaging Solutions provides a variety of products for manufacturers and retailers across the UK. The new investment, for an undisclosed substantial sum, will allow i2r to expand not only its range but also its production capacity at its base in Telford.

Italian based Contital compliments i2r with its production capacity of 28 presses and 200 tools. The Company converts 7,000 tonnes of aluminium a year with an annual turnover of more than €40 million worldwide.

Our link means that i2r now has an exclusive, comprehensive range of quality wrinkle wall products to compliment its current range, allowing it to compete for greater market share in the UK.

“In addition, Contital will now have the i2r smooth wall aluminium foil trays to offer its customers worldwide. Our unique partnership will see us develop a robust business with substantial growth and product offering.”
