Commercial Accountant

Summary

Reporting into the Finance Manager, the new role of Commercial Accountant is to build, develop and grow commercial & financial synergies, generating added value across a fast-growing business.

 

Main Duties

-        Develop and maintain close working relationships with internal commercial stakeholders, ensuring full understanding of needs and requirements are delivered.

 

-        Influence and challenge inter-functional business departments to ensure a balanced, targeted approach between production efficiency/output and commercial targets

 

-        3-Dimensional profitability analysis development (customer, product, operational unit of measure etc) to identify direction of focus

 

-        Work closely with the Management Accountant to deliver commercial insight into the company’s cost base and identify opportunities for margin improvement

 

-        Management of business cost-base ensuring accurate up to date costs are being captured and incorporated within models in a fast-changing environment

 

-        Make recommendations on how to minimise risks to the business

 

-        Develop daily/weekly KPIs and drive corrective actions

 

-        Production of monthly cost analysis packs detailing variances along with commentary by internal department

 

-        Develop monthly customer margin performance reporting

 

-        Become a key stakeholder within the production and build of the annual financial budget

 

-        Drive and support continuous improvement throughout the business alongside other stakeholders

 

-        Improve procedures where appropriate and ensure adequate controls are in place.

 

-        Identify areas for corrective action and make recommendations thereafter.

 

-        Capex investment performance reviews

 

Qualifications / Experience

·          Proven financial modelling & analytical skills

·          Qualified / Final Stages CIMA

·          Highly proficient MS Excel

·          Manufacturing background

 

·          Prior Management Accounts

 

Attitude and Skills

·        Ability to self-motivate and work autonomously with a proactive approach

·        Good Organisational skills

·        Ability to communicate at all levels within the business

 

·        Approachable and very enthusiastic

·          Hours of work 08.45 – 17.00 Monday to Friday 45 min lunch

·          Pension

·          Free on site parking

·          25 days holiday plus 1 non contractual day for birthday
